NEW FRONTPAGE & XANGA ACCESSIBILITY
On the surface, not much has changed. We did try to make the frontpage look a little cleaner. And we tried to make the major navigation (blogs - metros - blogrings - etc.) more obvious. But we wanted the updated frontpage to feel pretty familiar.
Behind the scenes, however, it's a whole new ballgame. We've completely overhauled the code to use standards-compliant html*, which is inherently faster, more flexible, and most importantly, more accessible to users who are visually impaired or have trouble using a mouse.
It's a new approach to web design that we're starting to use on all our new pages. Over time we'll convert all of Xanga's existing pages using this approach, as well.
Please let us know what you think - thanks!
ps Quite a few people have reported that their music codes stopped working today! We've looked into this, and posted an update on our findings.

What happened to the "random blog" link that used to be on the front page?
I love the way it looks. It's AWESOME!

Scary. It hasn't changed in ages - will take some getting used to. But nice. I always thought one of Xanga's best features was its simple design
