Protected Posting - Beta*
To: Feedback @ Xanga
Subject: Privacy
Hi. I was wondering if you could include a feature where you enter a specific list of usernames, and only people logged onto that username would be able to view your xanga site. Thanks to Monsur, now you can! Whenever you create or edit your posts, you'll see a new option to make each post "Protected", just as described above. You can learn all about it here:
We hope that "Protected Posting" helps you all feel more safe and secure here on Xanga. For that reason, we're making it available to *all* Xanga users. Xanga Classic users can have up to ten people on their Protected Lists, and Xanga Premium users can have as many people as they like
.Want to start playing? You can add Xangans to your Protected List by clicking the new little "Protected Posting" link on your private site. Only users on your list will be able to view and comment on protected posts.
Enjoy!
*What do we mean by "beta"? Please proceed with caution with this feature for the next week or so. Test it out, and let us know if any issues pop up in the comments! We'll address any issues immediately, but please wait a week or so before you use it for any really sensitive posts.

Hey Reesycakes... for now, you can have only one Protected List at a time.
In the future, we will add multiple Protected Lists for Xanga Premium members.
Cool...thats a really good idea!
Wildcat...how can it sound like that when they very openly state that it is available for ALL users!? And who are you to come here and announce (to no one that cares) that you 'refuse' to go Premium?? This post has nothing to do with your opinion on Premium... so grow up and stop being rude.
Monsur and John... I remember when a few people wanted this feature a while ago. I'm pleased with the idea that you all have decided to accomodate those few. I don't think I'll ever understand the concept of posting semi-private messages on a public site, but hey... maybe I'm not meant to understand that. Either way, I think it's great that you all are doing your best to make everyone happy with all these options. And kudos to granting it to Classic members too! :)
Cool..so many new features.
I have a suggestion, too: could we have a feature that allows comments to become "private"?..where only the person who posted the weblog can view the comment?
