Shiny New Prizes

SHiNE and Xanga are working together on various cool projects, but first...

Every now and then, Alan and Meridith over at SHiNE get some cool prizes donated from corporate sponsors. Too bad we didn't meet them earlier, because they had two free tickets to the MTV Video Music Awards! But they dropped us a line to let us know about a couple new prizes that are still available:
- Seventeen Magazine's "Big Night Out" (a shopping spree and makeover for you and three of your friends)
- A Week at a Camp Woodward (classes in rollerblading, skateboarding and BMX Freestyle)
Although these prizes are cool, we normally wouldn't post about them... except in this case, everyone who enters the contest generates a $1 contribution to SHiNE. So go enter the contest and maybe you'll win! And it's for a good cause .

While I don't have a problem with xanga teaming up with SHiNE I don't want this kind of stuff to become common. Please don't turn xanga into some kind of teen magazine oriented contest-filled... something...

Hi Banastre_Tarleton - no worries, we're trying to keep a balance here, too... like I said above "normally we wouldn't post about" these types of things, but in this case the contest serves as a fundraiser for SHiNE, and we're just trying to help them out a bit.

yeah i'm with lucidscreamer and Banastre_Tarleton...as far as the fund raising goes i think its a neat idea...but i just dont wanna see xanga turn into some teen oriented diary site full of commecrials and all...just keep it clean...

Ditto w/ Banastre_Tarleton hehe but an occasional one for a good goal (ie this one for the $1 contribution) is totally fine. :)

Great job otherwise on Xanga!!!!

Oh and also...please please add more smileys (even though this isn't a high priority).......
