SAFETY.XANGA.COM
We recently launched a new Xanga Safety site to make it easier for Xangans to get more info on how to stay safe online:

http://safety.xanga.com

Because it's such an important topic, we've added safety links to the bottom of all the major pages on Xanga, with special links for Parents and Law Enforcement.

Also, you may have noticed we've been launching a ton of safety and privacy features lately . We'll be keeping that up, and will be using the Xanga Safety site to highlight these new features as they become available.

Many thanks to Parry Aftab and the awesome team at WiredSafty.org, the largest online safety and educational program in cyberspace. They've provided us with lots of great safety tips and articles for the site. And we'll be working with them to keep the site updated with new links, articles and videos about keeping yourself, your family, and your friends safe online!

Please take a few moments to read WiredSafety's "Intro to Blogging and Social Networking" and this article on "How to avoid doing something stupid online" (a little common sense can go a long way).

And as always, please let us know what you think!

As a parent I appreciate your well thought out approach to net safety. As much as a parent tries to protect their kids, it's hard to think of all the possibilities.

It's wonderful that Xanga is adding all of these great features. Next on my wish list of Xanga features is the ability to ban a particular Xanga user without having to protect the whole site.

I could use I ban you but I'd prefer to use a Xanga created feature.

I think it's considerate of you to make such an effort to make parents feel safer about their kids being online.

It seems that most people have already heard these things, but the extra measures, like site ratings, and everything else, are a big help.

It means a lot that you're working to keep the general community safe.

I can't seem to disable the lock feature...I don't want my site to be locked... can you help me please...whenever i click on the "no" option and save changes it just goes back to being locked. I really need help.

Hi Xanga Team. I am a site runner for a roleplaying site and there is another site that is spaming me and my roleplayers sites constantly. The site that I am talking about is AntiCaliAcademy_CA . She is calling my roleplayers that we are fake and stupid and with the comments that she has been leaving us they are really hurtful. We don't really know what to do. Can you help my roleplayers and I from constant spams from this person? And if so can you stop her from ever making a xanga again?
