Updated Editor - Now with Video Support!
Now your Xanga Editor lets you upload videos directly into your weblog entries!
Just click the new "Videos" tab in your editor to try it out:http://www.xanga.com/private/editorx.aspx
The upgraded editor may look a bit different, but it's really the same code - Janet just reformatted and rejiggered it to support video. This new design lets us support more multimedia - in addition to photos and videos, we're finishing up support for audio uploads!
We've kept the old editor as an optional setting for now. Please give the updated editor a try and let us know how it works.

kould you guys bring that back or am i missing something.
But no man... don't take that old editor away, coz the new one doesn't work for me and I still use the old one. Thanks!
enjoy your labor day weekend.
2. The new editor loads a bit slower than the previous one - which was really, really slow on a dial up line (which is all I have). It makes using xanga pretty miserable. And then, after one realizes that someone has gone and changed my personal preferences, again, then I have to work through a couple or three screens to find the setting to change, back to what I wanted, which also is slow because of the slow link.
How about this, how about if there is a new feature, going to an all text intro page that describes the change and contains any settings that need to be set if the person wishes to try the new feature, but leaving the settings alone ?
And... In addition to my little rant over here, I've also noticed that my line breaks have been removed (replaced with break tags), and all the text in my post during edit mode are SQUOOSHED together in a bitterlovely clutter of text and code.
PLEASE REVERT BACK TO THE TRUE PLAIN TEXT EDITOR.
I don't know if it's just my problem or what, but the "New Entry" button on Xanga Dash still links to the old editor : http://www.xanga.com/private/xtools/xtoolspremium.aspx
Could you please fix that as soon as possible?
I have one problem with the new editor settings: When I make a new post, I prefer to first enter the information in plain text, then if necessary, make any edits in rich text. I like that you can now choose plain text as the default, but there isn't any way to make a quick switch to rich text without having to change the default settings.
With Safari, I can't get photos to upload in the Rich Text editor. After I choose a photo file and click Upload, I get a message telling me I have to select a photo first. I don't see how this problem could be the result of some kind of "advanced" technology that Safari doesn't support.
Before I'd just go to the old editor which worked quite well, but I can't access it now. I don't know if something just went down over the holiday weekend or if this is a permanent change, but it's definitely not working for me.
I'm going to try making a post without photos, hopefully that will work, but if this is just a minor bug please fix it or at least make the Old Rich Text editor available again!
